Air Canada misplaced my son's baggage for almost two weeks. Kept getting run around of where the bag was.

My son had a carry-on bag with all contents for the trip. The bag was specifically purchased because it was carry-on size. They would not let him carry it on and took it promising it would be there when he arrived in Canada. It was not there but was promised to be on flight to Japan.

Of course, it was not. On one call to AirCanada, we were told the bag is still in Canada. The next time we called, we were promised it would arrive in Japan in 12 hours. It never arrived in time for my son to meet the group to fly to another location (he stayed at airport 3 days waiting).

My son had to cancel his trip in Japan for a college trip due to not having required supplies needed to take the trip (computer, train tickets, etc. were in the bag). He had to book another trip home on another airline because AirCanada was too expensive. All we asked for was reimbursement for the portion of the trip not used.

He received credit. He is a college student and will not be traveling again for some time. It took months of planning and saving for this trip. Air Canada should be a little better about reimbursing, at a minimum, half of the amount of airfare for the round-trip ticket.

They should be ashamed. He only spent $9 on a cell phone charger while in Japan so that he could afford to fly back home.
