New ReviewerI am very unwell since today's experience (January 30/2026 8:15am) at ***. The airplane was having mechanical problems that was not resolved, and eventually the flight was cancelled after 5.5 hours.
The mechanical issue was known about the previous evening and the airline still decided it was a good idea to have 257 passengers board and hold them for 5.5 hours.
The air conditioning was not working, and it was 30+ degrees on the Tarmac.
It wasn't much cooler inside the airplane.
Many occupants were experiencing symptoms of heat exhaustion.
I myself started getting significant anxiety and faced a panic attack but was able to get off the plane at one point after two and a half hours of intense heat and little air movement. There were some people that stayed on that plane for the full 5.5 hours.
User's recommendation: Don't Fly Air Canada!!
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Air Canada Pros: Supplied a hotel and meals while a new flight was being arranged.
Air Canada Cons: Lack air conditioning, Water and food while waiting for the flight to depart.
Location: Nanaimo, British Columbia

I have to say waiting on the phone is totally unacceptable these days especially when YOU cancelled a leg of our booking. Their customer service sucks.
You are not entitled to a refund. If you cannot afford to pay for your flight. STAY HOME.
