Aeroplan reward program is bullshit !!!

Air Canada complaint by Rusalochka

I just realized that I lost 91,000 aeroplan miles because I didn't post any activity for 1 year. I obviously spent a lot of money to accumulate those miles and they're gone just like that.

Aeroplan told me that they sent me two emails advising me about the expiry. I didn't see them, so too bad for me. I talked to an agent and then the supervisor at the call center, but there's nothing to be done, no exceptions. But because they're nice, I can purchase my miles back at 1cent/mile+taxes which comes out to about 1000$. Thank you Air Canada NOT !

They are being pretty fair when you are the one that messed up. You were warned about the expiry date. They gave you two notices which you did not bother to read. Perhaps this experience will teach you something.

Sounds to me like it is your fault for not checking the emails and not following the policies, why not act your age and admit you messed up.
